I recently got this after waiting for ages for if to come down in price!!! Been a huge Kiss fan since Love Gun, Double Platinum (late 70's!)and have over 60 Kiss albums in my collection, so was really chuffed at the prospect of demos, unreleased stuff, live versions etc, and I have to say, I have mixed views. How many times do they need to release stuff already available elsewhere! Surely this set should have been made up entirely of rarities etc?
Slightly disapointed but highlights include the demos and recordings from the early days, which are really cool to hear.
Packaging as always is superb- lots of cool pictures etc., but alot of the commentry stuff is already available in the book "Behind the Mask".
There has to be a "Box set 2" in the pipeline!

The correct title of this box should be KISS: The Con. This was a prime opportunity to include all those irritating rare tracks that pop up on various compilation CDs that force fans of the band to buy a new CD for the sake of one track. This was the chance to redress the balance. And yet, we're missing:
Strutter '78
(You Make Me) Rock Hard
I'm A Legend Tonight
Down On Your Knees
Partners In Crime
Do You Remember Rock N Roll Radio?
Not to mention the single edit and remix versions of I Was Made For Lovin' You, Creatures of The Night, I Love It Loud, War Machine, I Finally Found My Way, Jungle, Partners In Crime, Raise Your Glasses and Rise To It (surely more worth while including here than the readily available album versions).
An excellent collection, but not quite perfect, which it really should have been.
Oh, and if the reviewer below really does think 30 out of 94 is 95%, I suggest returning to school...

this is possibly the best collection of music you will ever hear as it has everything...there is rock, heavy, ballard, slow and even disco! it deserves far more than 5 stars. the book is also a great read and has all the little touches that make it truely special. i just received it after 2 years of waiting and i love it, and honestly cant stop playing it. if u like KISS u will more than love this, as it is awesome. the tracks are brilliant too with great quality recordings and live shows. worth every last penny... and more

I got the box-set for christmas and I love it. With over 6 hours of classic KISS songs, it's a must for any serious fan. One of the best features I think it has, is all of the unreleased demos of some of my favourite songs. Although some of the demos are completely different (like Domino and God Of Thunder) to the versions that we all know and love, it is an interesting look in to how these songs came about. Besides the 5 CD's you also get a 120+ page book which is great. It tells you all about the creation and the journey of the band. It also tells you loads of great, probably never before seen info about the individual songs and it has cool comments by Gene and Paul themselves. This has got to be the ultimate KISS CD collection available, and it is a must for any KISS fan.

I received the DELUXE BOX SET (guitar case edition), for Christmas and being a huge fan since 1976 I was overjoyed!! This set will not disappoint!!! I cannot think of another SET that comes close to this one. To be able to hear their music evolve into what it is today is amazing!! I will cherish it always. It is a must for any KISS fan or any music fan!!!
