Great Show
Review date: 2008-03-06 Rating: 8 out of 10
Considering that at the time Oasis only had one album (Definitely Maybe) and a bunch of single b-sides, Live By The Sea is a show where they strum out hit after hit.
Rock 'N' Roll Star is the first tune blasted out and that sets the path for 80 minutes of vintage Oasis.
Following one hell of an opener are 10 more punches in the face, including Acquiesce, Some Might Say, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Live Forever and Up in the Sky. Throughout the set is classic after classic that doesnt let up at any point. Unfortunately Up in the Sky, and later Slide Away, are spoilt by Liams inability to hit the higher notes in the songs. But luckily there are 15 other songs that make up for these, slightly disappoiting performances.
About an hour in and the set changes direction. All members depart the stage and leave Noel, his acoustic and a hungry crowd. This is where the other side of Noels song writing abilities are shown. Earlier on in the set the band are strumming out the fast paced riffs of Rock 'N' Roll Star, Columbia and Headshrinker. But now Noel is left playing the classics ballards Sad Song, Talk Tonight and part of D'Yer Wanna be a Spaceman?
Then the band re-enter and close with Slide Away, Supersonic and the most rocked up version of I am the Walrus you will ever hear.
Any fan of Oasis will love this!

Which was nice.
By the way, the boot was thrown by a mate of mine. His name's Dean. He said his foot was itching off and just HAD to do something about it. Still doesn't quite explain why he felt he had to share it with Liam, but there you go.
Summary: Top gig, well captured, buy it.
WOW!!Review date: 2001-10-07 Rating: 8 out of 10what can be said about a fantastic performance by the greatest british band since the beatles? well basically its a top quality DVD only flawed by its lack of extras. if it had some kind of behind the scenes footage then this would easily get 5 stars. if you're a fan of good rock music then this is for you!!A Fantastic Oasis Performance!!!Review date: 2001-10-05 Rating: 10 out of 10Should I try to describe a perfect thing?
Recorded live at the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend-On-Sea on 17 Abril 1995, and produced by Phil Barnes, this show includes fantastic performances of the main Oasis' successes: "Live Forever", "Some Might Say", "Cigarettes and Alcohol", "Supersonic", "Acquiesce" and "Rock'n Roll Star". To complete, the Beatles' cover "I Am The Walrus", other good tracks like "Columbia", "Up In The Sky", "Sad Song" and much more! The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, were simply spectacular in this first live work released, based on the first Oasis' album: Definitely Maybe. Is it important to you know how everything started? Here you are! The begin of all! It's a must for you, a big fan of the phenomenon called Oasis!
