If anyone says that earthquakes don't happen in New York, well they better think twice. Earthquakes can happen anywhere! I mean I live in the U K where it was said that earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornados couldn’t happen, but we’ve had a hurricane tornadoes and a minor earthquake All and all, this is a very entertaining movie to watch. It is a movie I can watch over and over and will not get bored of it. Star rating, I rate it 4 out 5.

This is a great movie; I was very surprised that a low budget movie can come up with great special effects like this; it is so good that you really get the feeling that you could be watching an earthquake in progress. The script was well written and the acting was incredible. The Casts and the special effects were so good that it shows that Earthquakes can happen anywhere even in a relatively low risk zone. This movie takes a look at what might happen if a major earthquake struck Manhattan. Tom Skerritt stars as the recently resigned NYC Fire Chief who had a problem with the Mayor (Charles S. Dutton) but had to put aside his problems with the mayor and worked together to put the city’s disaster recovery plans into action and at the same time both men have to deal with the fact that their loved ones may be trapped or killed. The mayor’s mother Emily Lincoln (Cicely Tyson) was trapped in a church basement with a boy she is trying to rehabilitate. The Mayor’s daughter Evie Lincoln (Lisa Nicole Carson - TV's Ally McBeal) is a lawyer who is defending her client Joshua Bingham (J.R. Bourne), who's facing charges on manslaughter, later ends up trapped in a collapsed subway tunnel with Joshua who slowly exposes a dark side to his personality. Dori Thorell (Sharon Lawrence) a Californian who blamed her self for her sons cripple ness from a car accident sets off to find her missing son. The cast also includes Jennifer Garner, Rachel Ticotin, Frederick Weller Erika Eleniak-Goglia, Mitchell Ryan, Mark Rolston, Ray J, and Michael Suchanek.
