This is a budget programme and very simple. It doesn't matter to kids about dynamic graphics and storylines. My children are 2 and 3 and absolutely love this programme! They've watched it over and over again and never tire of it. The old ones are the best and kids today will agree with that.

Sweet and entertaining
Review date: 2007-10-30 Rating: 10 out of 10

Absolutely enchanting in its simplistic format (puppets) and easy dialogue. I had a video years ago when my eldest were children (now in their 20's) and it's long since lost. So, when I happened upon the DVD I bought it for my youngest batch (ages 5 - 14). Guess what, we're all watching it again! That's the power of very good, old fashioned children's entertainment at its very best.

Button Moon is another one of my favourite children's TV programmes and with an absolutely legendary theme tune. In the early 1980's, every weekday ITV use to show a different children's programme which I remember for some reason as dinnertime programmes from 12 o'clock till about half past, I use to watch them in my school dinner hour and so that is probably the reason why I remember them as dinnertime programmes.

Anyway, Button Moon was one of those dinnertime programmes and it is an absolute classic. As I remember there was two dinnertime programmes and I think that Button Moon use to sometimes be shown on the same day as my absolute favourite, RAINBOW. Button Moon was short, simple but very effective and enjoyable. It really is amazing what you can do when you use your imagination. Seriously, the things you can do and the stories that can be created with a spoon, a Heinz baked beans tin and a button are truly amazing but it is also probably one of the reasons why I loved Button Moon so much because as a child I was able to copy it by making my own stories with my very own Mr and Mrs Spoon and my very own spaceship to travel to my very own moon with and all made up of bits and pieces. All together now, WE'VE BEEN TO BUTTON MOON, WE'VE FOLLOWED MR SPOON, BUTTON MOON, BUTTON MOON.....

THE SPOON FAMILY ARE THE BEST!
Review date: 2007-04-13 Rating: 10 out of 10

Even after all these years, my eldest son Christopher, who is 19, just loves this series - as does my youngest son, Charlie, who is 15.
They find the stories incredibly captivating and the excitement when the Button Moon Spaceship takes off still keeps them on the edge of their seats. The characters are priceless and the favourites still seem to be Queeny Jellie and the Sand Dancers - outside the main characters. We often get together with all their cousins and do a bit of 'sand dancing' ourselves - it just excites everyone.
Even my mother, who is 81, likes to get up in the morning, look through her telescope (into blanket sky) and see what is happening on Button Moon. If it's not the dancing blackbirds, the sand dancers, or the dancing pigs in full flow, the day just doesn't start properly.
Who needs Nintendo and all those other silly computer games, when there is Button Moon around.
Let's hope the Spoon Family keeps going forever.
We love you!
PUG-H.
