Years after the original tragedy, Burt Gummer, (Michael Gross) still resides in Perfection, Nevada and has grown resentful of the town's increasing turn towards commercialism to capitalize off the Graboids phenomenon. The target of his rage is Jack Sawyer, (Jack Christian who has put in a monster-theme tourist attraction out of the phenomenon. After a wave of attacks suggests that they're back near the town, Burt gathers a small collection of the townspeople to hunt them down, but the government intervenes and orders him to find one for study first before trying to kill them again. Afraid now that they have turned from Shriekers into a new form of the creatures, the fight to survive becomes a lot moire challenging.

The Good News: This is actually one of the better entries in the series. The film carries its goofy sense of humor along nicely, never taking it so silly that it takes away from the film's few scares but never really being afraid of getting a laugh. This is carried to all aspect of the film, including the monsters, characters and just about everything. The newest stage of the creatures is just plain genius, making it a light-hearted affair in keeping perfectly with continuity in the series while also being just plain fun. The special effects on the creatures are not as extensive as before, and are a nicely done mix of actual puppets and computer generated special effects. What also gives the film a bonus is the creativity of the effects. It really didn't bother me how much was CGI this time, a nice surprise. There is also a large amount of great scene, such as when Burt is swallowed by a Graboid, or the entire showdown inside the junkyard. Full of great action, a couple of great gags and some set-pieces that you just have to see to believe, it really is a fun series of events that are perfectly logical and a lot of fun to watch. They could very easily have gone the cliché route time and time again but walked a different path and made it perfectly in keeping with the rest of the series. A great monster flick lives or dies on how the monster looks and what affect it has on the characters. The creatures in the surroundings of this small town makes for the perfect villain, taking away its prey's ability to get away as it burrows underground following you by sound alone. They are integrated into the society so perfectly that it just seems natural hat for them, and that is so refreshing to see in a film. Of course, all of this is mute when Burt takes center stage, as he alone is responsible for most of the fun to be had. It's simply a joy to watch him, and he makes the most of the time on-screen.

The Bad News: If looked at seriously, there are still a few problems with the film besides its fun spirit. The most obvious is that it feels too much like the other films. It really doesn't do much to change the formula, other than adding a separate stage for the creatures that really feels quite cool, but there's very little else. It's the film's biggest problem, as well as a feel that it's just trying to get the laughs and not really going for the scare in certain situations. This is due to its rating, which really shouldn't be as low as it is. It could've lived very easily with a PG-13 rating, but going all the way down to PG is a major mistake. There needed to be a little more adult-level to the proceedings, and this rating really neuters that. But overall, these are minor problems that can be pretty much overlooked.

The Final Verdict: One of the better sequels for its pure fun and energy, this is one of the better entries in t he series. It's just as goofy, campy and spirited as the others, and as such, deserves to be really be given a serious look by fans of the series. They will find a lot to like in this one.

Lo and behold- a third outing!
Review date: 2005-02-24 Rating: 10 out of 10

This is magical. a film i saw in patches as a kid and i loved every minute of as a teenager has a third run-in. brilliant!

Although the new concept here is brilliant- again the idea of underground monsters is kind of dead-end- this is undoubtly the weakest link in the trilogy. thankfully most of the original cast are here- bacon and ward have moved on, which leaves the REAL star- Burt Gumer- to take center stage with his vast array of weapons to blow seven bags of **** out of the buggers!

a must see for fans, definetly worth a purchase, but not as good as the first two

Tremors 3: back to perfection

This is an okay film but not great. If you liked Tremors 2: aftershocks, then you'll find this okay and enjoyable.

Tremors 3 is a mix of the first and second. Worth watching and purchasing if you a fan of the franchise..

Tremors 3: Back To Perfection DVD!
Review date: 2003-10-11 Rating: 8 out of 10

This is the second sequel in the Tremors franchise. But was it as good as the original and the first sequel?

Well I personally felt the Tremors 3 was the poorest of all the movies (don't get me wrong, I love it, but if I had to pick one of the three to be my least favourite, this would be it). The reason for this is the CGI creature effects that were used in the movie. They don't have a very realistic feel to them and don't interact with the actors very well. There are some scenes where it is obvious that the actors are starring into space, and the creatures were dubbed on afterwards.

Now after that little moan, let's look at the good points to the movie. If you enjoyed the original movie and the first sequel, there's no reason why you won't like this, because it still remains true to the storylines. The film is also quite family friendly, with very little bad language and the violence is very moderated, not over done. So be happy to show this one to the kids, rather than the original which was a little more risky for young eyes and ears!

The idea of returning to Perfection to see the town after the first Graboid attack 11 years ago works really well. It's good to see how things have changed, as well as to see characters returning from the original movie.

The DVD comes with a nice Spotlight On Location featurette which gives a good look behind the scenes at how a few of the stunts were done etc. I always enjoy seeing a 'Making Of' after watching a film.

Excellent Sequal but not as good as the first
Review date: 2003-10-07 Rating: 8 out of 10

Fine. It's way better than the second but it's not up to standards than the first. Firstly Kevin Bacons not in it and that was a disappointment to me.Secondly I think that ass blaster
thing was a bit farfetched but it's very entertaining.

The graphics a superb. Gross is up to his class and if you're a Tremors fan. See it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
