As soon as the first episode began all of the memories came flooding back. Who could have forgotten the charm of this strange looking, loveable scarecrow and his undying love for the greedy Aunt Sally? And of course the Crowman and his plight to keep Worzel out of mischief! This is fantastic entertainment for young and old alike. Brilliant for a trip down memory lane for the grown-ups and yet simply must be revived for any youngsters out there now.

It's great that Worzel Gummidge has finally been released after 21 years since Southern Television first aired the series. Jon Pertwee as Worzel. A young Charlotte Coleman who played Sue (Charlotte later went on to become School Rebel Marmalade Atkins in Educating Marmalade. And Mike Berry from Are you being Served who played Sues dad...
The outdoor scenes I believe were all filmed around Stockbridge near Winchester, Hampshire including the high street where the shop scenes were filmed. I went through Stockbridge recently and it hasn't changed much in 21 years.....
Is this the start of a Southern Television Programme Revivial. Southern made some excellent programmes for children and as someone who grew up with Southern in the 70's, how about DVD's of the complete Famous Five and HOW with Fred Dineage.
