infiltrator
Review date: 2004-01-20 Rating: 10 out of 10
The infiltrator is truley a master piece, the directors depiction of the neo nazis is what i believe to be the most accurate of all time in a movie and Oliver Platt plays a truley mind blowing role. I strongley recommend any one over the age of 18 to see the movie.
Keeping his identity secret in the violent world of neo-nazism was not only difficult but extrememly dangerous, for both him and the people who helped him, but the information he uncovered was shocking to say the least. The seemingly unco-ordinated acts of racial and ethnic violence which were and are increasing in that country (and elsewhere) were anything but disorganised. Yaron discovered the organisation went right to the top. German political and business luminaries, many of whom were Nazis in the 30s and 40s, were in fact sponsoring and co-ordinating violent right wing action groups, privately encouraging nazi doctrine while publicly denying it.
This film is a must-see for anyone interested in the rights and equality of all human beings. If you thought the Nazis were old news, think again. It is a sad footnote to Yaron's research that little action has been taken in light of what he uncovered at great personal risk, but it only makes it all the more imperative that as many people as possible find out about it.
