Frivolous Lola is a spirited adult production that keeps very much to Italian director Tinto Brass' modus operandi of making light-hearted sex films with a European art house sensibility. The Lola of the title (played with gusto by Serena Grandi) is a flighty young woman, frustrated by her relationship with local baker's son Masetto. Her constant attempts to seduce him meet with little success, resulting in a passionate affair with her mother's lover, André. As with all of Brass' work, Frivolous Lola is an odd combination of European erotica and Carry On film--not helped by the clumsy English language dubbing and the somewhat bizarre appearance of Britain's own Patrick Mower. Aficionados of the director will also spot his primary fascination with a certain part of the female anatomy as Grandi's bottom dominates the shot at every possible opportunity.

On the DVD: Frivolous Lola on disc is digitally remastered, and the picture shows off the lushness of the Italian countryside, even though that was probably the last thing on the director's mind. Extras include an erotic photogallery and an interview with Tinto Brass himself, which does nothing to divert from the image of this man as something of an enigma in his chosen field. --Phil Udell

this movie is very good beatiful girls all natural no silicone very hairy bushes but I gave 4 stars because all movies in this boxed is censured but it's doesn't matter anyway is good have this collection

Beautiful sets, photography, fashion, lingerie and, ofcourse, women. Some stunning interiors, art objects and other props offer a delicious backdrop to a gallery of gorgeous classical nudes from late teens to forty-somethings. The women are elegant and demure, their bodies slender, curvaceous and generally amply endowed. That said, if Paprika had starred in all 8 of the films, nothing would have been lost. Clearly, Tinto favours the natural, unshaven look, and has mastered the art of avoiding altogether the type of shot that makes acts of sex look vile and corrupt. Visually, then, the films are pretty good, but I think it has to be admitted that these films offer nothing else, they possess no subtext but, thankfully, have no pretensions either. They are porn and share fully in porn's curious inability to handle serious philosophical themes that might elevate them to a class where we could begin to make critical comparisons with films of dramatic substance. I can see how some viewers might want to allude to some well-captured moments of vanity and humour, but I was throughout so comfortably distracted by the obliging nature of the girls that the slap-stick was experienced as through a cloud.

Old fashioned soft porn

I rented this video out of curiosity. Tha porn film industry seems to have developed a much harder edge since the eighties and has become increasingly tasteless. However, this film is much more in the tradition of the soft porn cinema of the seventies, with it's threadbare plot and inconsequential scenes designed to show off as much naked flesh as possible. There are clear comparisons to be drawn between Tinto Brass and the 70's doyen of this art form, Russ Meyer. The essential difference being Meyer's fascination with implausibly gi-normous bosoms while Brass's preoccupation is with le derrier! This film is every bit as frivolous as it's title and is likely to appeal only to he more voyeuristic enthusiast. But I have to acknowledge that the leading lady certainly gave it her best shot and could not be faulted on enthusiasm.

Tito Bass makes the most beautiful adult films, this is exceptional. The young lady has an exquisit body and she comfortable showing it off.
I wouldn't consider this film porn but simply genuine admiration for sex and the femail form. Show your girl freind or wife and have an enjoyable time.

Eroticism at it best

Brass is a genius and all these films are tastefully directed. No hard-core here just simple fun a must for any couple. Silicone is definitely not to be found here just natural beautiful bodies. A lot of good comedy as well and I should mention the saddle sniffing.
