Very Funny.
Review date: 2004-07-05 Rating: 8 out of 10
I realy enjoyed this film. It's certainly a lot better than the first two movies. As a horror comedy this really works, kinda like Gremlins only a bit more hardcore! Lot of silly (but funny) deaths and bare flesh.
Most of the actors aren't up to much, in fact they are overshadowed by the puppets, script wise and talent wise! But none the less a very enjoyable film.
Also, look out for Eva La Rue, she's very easy on the eye.
Reviews
One of the funniest comedy horrors around.Review date: 2003-04-08 Rating: 6 out of 10Ghoulies 3(or ghoulies go to college) is easily the best of the 3 ghoulies films, its just so damn funny! Whats great about it is that it concentrates on bieng funny all the way through and dosen't take itself seriously. the film takes place during a high school annual prank week and two rival fraternity parties are trying to get the better of each other, some of the pranks they pull are priceless, the ghoulies themselves only add to the comedy value as they look like mutant muppets and are not in the slightest bit scary, also, the ways in which they kill people are just as funny, seeing three rubber puppets flush a full grown guy down the toilet was hilarious. If your looking for a real horror film then I wouldn't recommend this but if you want a good laugh and like gremlins or critters then you should definatley check this one out. The film does look dated now as it was made in the late 80s/early 90s but this only adds to the quality.
more laugths then horror, but at times it works!Review date: 2001-10-14 Rating: 6 out of 10GHOULIS GO TO COLLEGE is the 3rd in a low budget francise thats up until this chapter has been pretty lame, But what DIrector John Carl Buechler of( FRIDAY THE 13TH 7)does is turn a lagging 3rd part in to a not to bad horror/comedy.
The movie set at an all American college during its annual prank week where the ghoulies are released from an old toilet in the dorms, and start offing a rival fraternitys students.
Its hardly ground breaking stuff but the comic change of style does make this more watchable than previous entrys and at times is quite funny.
The director whos an FX man for various ELM ST, FRIDAYS,and HALLOWEENS obviously new that this was a wise desition to make as the ghoulies themselves are about as scary as rubber puppets on a budget can be.
If your a fan of teen comidies that are light on the horror give this a try, but hardcore genre fans will be dissapointed by the lack of trying to make this a half serious horror flick.
