Amazon.co.uk Review
DeVito and Schwarzenegger as fraternal twin brothers? Hey, why not? This delightful 1988 comedy by Ivan Reitman--about genetically designed twin siblings who discover each other at the age of 35--works out just fine, thanks largely to great chemistry between the two stars. Despite a certain amount of rough action and tension, Twins really gets a lift from the palpable innocence Reitman develops, and the female costars (Chloe Webb and Kelly Preston) bring some interesting texture of their own. This is a film that walked the tightrope of a high concept and completely succeeded. To see how easy it is to stumble in a similar situation, check out DeVito and Schwarzenegger in Reitman's Junior. --Tom Keogh
A comedy classic
Review date: 2008-01-11 Rating: 8 out of 10
By the time you've got to read my review you'll know the story. It's a great film, and was Arnie's first foray into comedy and is directed by Ivan (Ghostbusters) Reitman.
My only complaint is NOT with the film but with the DVD itself. I would have given this a five star rating had it not been for the fact that this film is not shown in Widescreen and is Pan and Scan and there is only the trailer as a special feature. Save your pennies and wait until the Special Edition is realised, it'll be worth it.

twins mishapsReview date: 2007-08-02 Rating: 10 out of 10hello, any1 notice that he says 5 million dollars, and when his brother (arnie) later on is there he says 4 million! so vincent nicked the other million. top film anywayArnie's Breakthrough into ComedyReview date: 2007-05-28 Rating: 10 out of 10Great comedy. The chemistry between De Vito and Arnie really makes this film a great laugh. They discover each other in their mid 30's and what De Vito lacks in height,he has in character. Some really hilarious scenes like for example when Arnie has is first sexual experience and when he is learning how to drive. I loved the tagline ' Only their mother can tell them apart'. Arnie showed his flair for comedy with this film.good Review date: 2007-03-20 Rating: 6 out of 10ivan reitman of ghostbusters fame directed this film that on first glance seems to be a film where arnie surely must fail, playing in a family comedy, due to this being a success arnie made family comedies more than a pastime but the question that i ask myself is this,if i loved this as a kid and i did ,do i love it now, well actually yes and no.
Arnie and devito play twins who were seperated at birth and meet up years later but the differenes between the brothers is vast, arnie is tall and strong and respectful of people while devito is tiny and a leech on society,as it turns out the brothers need to adjust to each other but also escape from the problems that devito created and find their their mother who left them years before, harmless if predictable fodder in truth but the film works as arnie and devito create a good chemistry and the film has a charm of its own, while it isnt perfect and some will crave for arnie to whip out gun and empty the room, twins is more or a less a success in the years that followed.
Enjoyable Twin filmReview date: 2006-09-04 Rating: 8 out of 10The plot of this film speaks for itself. The idea is simply terrific and works extremely well. A smart handsome athletic man is the twin of a short dumb criminal, comedy conventions all over and will guarantee to leave you chuckle all the way through.
Schwarzenegger (Commando, Terminator) stars as Julius who leaves his home to go in search of his lazy criminal breaking brother Vincent, De Vito (Tears of endearment, Get Shorty)
The story is very simplistic and easy to understand. As well as being categorised in the comedy genre there are many emotional ideologies contained within the hit film. There are many family issues raised by the characters and love is a central theme in this relaxed plot.
The whole film is about the brothers and how they get along. De Vito plays the sluggish criminal Vincent who finds it difficult to accept his brother and Arnie plays the very enthusiastic brother Julius who is always willing to do everything he can.
Having two different types of characters allows the tension and excitement of the film to boil up and engages the audience into watching the humour but also the emotional ideas contained. It is very heart warming and will bring a smile to your face as some actions are completely ridiculous in a humorous sense but the ending is also very special for many people. There are many `brother' conventions. De Vito is willing to help his brother into the world and teach him the things he knows as is Arnie.
Through the use of this partnership the plot is very consistently funny with more speaking humour than physical but some dancing scenes involving the pair towards the end are very humorously memorable.
The idea of juxtaposing two completely figures in Schwarzenegger and De Vito was sheer movie genius. It conveys great humour throughout and through this bizarre partnership audiences will be able to appreciate the comical ideologies put forth but the director of `Kindergarten Cop' and `Junior'.
A very relaxed comedy with chucklesome jokes worth watching for the whole family
