Amazon.co.uk Review
This 1987 thriller was a predictable hit with the teen audience it worked overtime to attract. Like most of director Joel Schumacher's films, it's conspicuously designed to push the right marketing and demographic buttons and, granted, there's some pretty cool stuff going on here and there. Take Kiefer Sutherland, for instance. In Stand by Me he played a memorable bully, but here he goes one step further as a memorable bully vampire who leads a tribe of teenage vampires on their nocturnal spree of bloodsucking havoc. Jason Patric plays the new guy in town, who quickly attracts a lovely girlfriend (Jami Gertz), only to find that she might be recruiting him into the vampire fold. The movie gets sillier as it goes along, and resorts to a routine action-movie showdown, but it's a visual knockout (featuring great cinematography by Michael Chapman) and boasts a cast that's eminently able (pardon the pun) to sink their teeth into the best parts of an uneven screenplay. --Jeff Shannon

i'm a huge fan of scary and grewsome films but this film is the best. it's an original thriller that has scares and laughs in it. jason patrick suits well playing the good guy and kiefer sutherland does things best playing the bad leader of a vampire clan. the frogg brothers make the film all that better by adding humour. this film is a must see, it's truely a good make in the film industry.

Amazing Film!!Review date: 2008-01-24 Rating: 10 out of 10I heard about this film from a friend and thought i have to check it out and wow it is one of the best films i have ever seen. I am a very big Kiefer Sutherland fan and this has to be one of his best works. The mix of vampires and awesome script just blows you away like "Death by Stereo" the greatest line in this film.
In all i say buy this film it is just amazing!" Don't do it Michal, It's blood"Review date: 2008-01-05 Rating: 10 out of 10What a classic. I thought it was gonna be scary when i first heard about it because i get scared at anything!!!! But it's not that scary it's quite violent though when someone gets the back of his head bit!Not Lost in timeReview date: 2007-11-30 Rating: 8 out of 10I watched this when i was about 14, and it was a great teen film, so as it was cheap on Amazon i thought i would reminish, it was as good as i remember!
the soundtrack is fitting and dramatic and the acting makes some modern films look like soap-acting, very believable. The special effects are up there with other films such as American Werewolf,, for the modern looking style, and the directing means the suspense is held with perfect camera angles and scene-settings - particularly the Vampire lair.
Worth it at the current deal price, go and get it!
Fantastic Soundtrack for one of Kiefer's first outingsReview date: 2007-11-25 Rating: 8 out of 10Director Schumacher does a good job & the whole film is pretty stylish throughout, there's some nice Vampire attack scenes, some good action & he keeps things moving at a nice pace. I also have to mention the soundtrack as it's brilliant, I don't usually notice the music in a film that much unless it's really bad but The Lost Boys has a fantastic 80's soundtrack that I thought was great. There's some decent gore although it's not too gruesome, there are some exploding Vampires, stakes through the heart, impalings, severed limbs, melting Vampires, biting, blood squirting, flesh ripping & of course death by stereo.
