An Amazing Account Of The Poet Hedd Wyn!
Review date: 2001-02-18 Rating: 10 out of 10

Hedd Wyn was a well known poet, who had won several different competition in his home town. One of his biggest dreams in life was to win the Chair in the National Eisteddfod. Hedd Wyn had strived to win, but failed to achieve this goal, due to an over romanticised theme to his poetry.

The plot takes a turn when Hedd Wyn is enlisted to fight in the army during the First World War. Either him or his brother was to go, and Hedd Wyn decided it was for the better if he went. He decided it was more important to protect his little brother, who wanted to fight but was only sixteen, than to worry about his position as a conciencous objector to the war. Hedd Wyn's poetry at the tenches takes a fundamental change, and with a few twists and turns in the plot, ends up with a romantic conclusion....

Hedd wyn is an amazing True Life Drama, as the Oscar Nomination proves, anybody welsh speaking or not can enjoy this timeless piece.

I just hope that it's released on DVD soon.
