OH DOCTOR BEECHING is based around the goings on at Hatley Station, a
quiet little holt on a sleepy branch line. Life is good for acting
stationmaster Jack Skinner and his staff. But everything is about to
change. There's a new, efficient stationmaster on the way - and the year is
1963. Doctor Beeching has just recommended the closure of thousands of
rural railway stations - and Hatley Station may soon be nothing more
than a fond memory…
